A quick conversation with Don Purchase on his Fall 2016 Roadtrip of Insurance Conventions
Below is a quick interview with Don where he shares insights he gained from Brokers in Ontario, Saskatchewan and the maritimes.
Question: Don, what key message were you sharing with Brokers across the country?
Don: Our core message centers around tailored 100% Canadian solutions for Brokers including Secure Cloud Backup, Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), Cloud Hosting and Security solutions.
Question: What’s one of the most important things Brokers want to know?
Don: They want to know about our Affinity programs, our exclusive pricing and the experience we’ve had moving other Brokers to the Cloud.
Question: Anything else you talk about on the Insurance Convention Show Floor?
Don: The importance of working with a 100% Canadian owned and operated Cloud partner. Partnering with a Cloud solution provider that really understands their business.
Question: What concerns were you hearing from Brokers across the country?
Don: Ransomware is a common concern when I’m talking to Insurance Brokers. I tell them how backup policy retentions are important to protect themselves against it. I also encourage them to find out where their data is stored because of the US Patriot Act and also to ask if the Cloud provider is Canadian owned and operated or a US corporate citizen.
Question: Any changes in how Brokers are looking at Cloud solutions?
Don: Yes, just a couple of years ago Cloud Hosting was barely on the radar, few spoke or asked about it. Now it is the dominant topic of discussion. Like all industries Brokers are warming up to the idea and are looking for a trusted partner they can count on to understand their needs and address their challenges.
Question: And you point them to Stage2Data?
Don: We are the Affinity Partner with many provincial Insurance Broker Associations so we truly understand Broker needs. But we are also available to help a Broker know which questions to ask other Cloud Solutions when they are shortlisting partners to work with.
